Schaeffler suggests replacing BMW diesel engine pulleys to reduce noise
Technicians are advised to swap solid pulleys for the INA-branded overrunning alternator pulleys in BMW diesel engines from 2004–2011 to improve drivability
Technicians working on BMW diesel engines experiencing engine noise and vibration issues are being prompted by Schaeffler's REPXPERT to inspect the solid pulley on the FEAD system and consider replacing it with an INA overrunning alternator pulley (OAP) where applicable, according to a press release dated Nov. 21.
