Sensata Technologies launches bidirectional contactors for fast chargers
Company says the new GTM400 and GTM500 bidirectional contactors’ power handling enables EV battery charging from the grid and/or a V2G (vehicle-to-grid) system.
Sensata Technologies, a US-based supplier of sensors and sensor-equipped solutions to the automotive industry, announced the launch of its Gigavac GTM400 and GTM500 bidirectional contactors for applications up to 1,500 Vdc and 400A and 500A, according to a press release dated September 12. The new contactors are said to be ideal for high-power applications that require reliable switching and DC circuit protection like energy storage systems, DC fast charging stations, and heavy-duty vehicles, the company said.
