EU lawmakers confirm zero-emissions target for new cars and vans by 2035
The agreement marks the first step in the adoption of the ‘Fit for 55' legislative proposals tabled by the Commission in July 2021
The European Parliament and Council reached an agreement on 27 October ensuring all new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles registered in Europe will be zero-emission by 2035, according to an official press release dated 27 October issued by the European Commission, who welcomed the agreement.
