Amazon strikes "green hydrogen" deal with US-based Plug Power

Company aims to replace fossil fuels and non-green energy with green hydrogen to power 30,000 forklifts and 800 long-haul trucks.

Amazon announced that the company has signed an agreement with Plug Power, a US-based turnkey hydrogen and fuel-cell solutions provider, to supply 10,950 metric tons per year of green hydrogen for its transportation and building operations starting in 2025, according to a press release dated 25 August. The new green hydrogen will be used to replace the grey hydrogen, diesel, and other fossil fuels and will provide enough annual power for 30,000 forklift trucks and 800 long-haul trucks used for transportation, the release added.
