Greater China’s light vehicle vehicles in operation (VIO) boasts average 19% annual growth in the past decade. The Greater Chinese light vehicle VIO count will exceed 300 million units for the first time in 2023. This will account for 21% of the global VIO, closely following the tracks of North America (24%) and Europe (28%).

In 2027, Greater China will surpass North America as the second-largest light vehicle aftermarket in the world. Meanwhile, Greater China is already leading new technology deployment in the automotive industry, e.g., BEV VIO account for 48% of global BEV VIO in 2023. Analysts

Since joining the company in November 2006, Ms. Buettner has developed and headed the Infotainment focus area. Now her research focuses on connectivity and infotainment topics mainly for the North American market, as part of the connected car team. Ms. Buettner has led and contributed to numerous projects that includes detailed analysis of in-vehicle head unit systems, acoustic systems as well as telematics solutions for a number of international OEM and supplier companies to support critical decisions that shape the automotive and transportation business landscape.

Prior joining IHS Markit, she worked with policy research organization Center for Rural Policy and Development as a researcher to evaluate issues from a rural perspective. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Sociology from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Joyce Wang is Director of Automotive Technology & Aftermarket at S&P Global Mobility, focusing on technology trend forecasts and aftermarket analysis.

With 13 years of working experience in automotive industry, covering both OE market and Aftermarket. Joyce specializes in supply chain analysis, opportunity identification and assessment. Joyce has initially led component and technology research in China since 2010, later moving on to lead a team of 11 analysts in China, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.

Since 2020, Joyce’s responsibility expanded to include Aftermarket, where she was in charge of leading product innovation in aftermarket. She lead the product development of Aftermarket Insight, which is aim to help aftermarket players capture new business and enhance supply chain management.
In her recent role, Joyce is in charge of multi-client studies on cutting-edge research and popular subjects in the automotive sector, such as high voltage battery recycling.

Joyce holds bachelor's degree in management and master's degree in economics.
