GM bans aftermarket Apple CarPlay and Android Auto kits
General Motors prohibits dealership installations of popular infotainment retrofit options for its Ultium EV platform vehicles.
General Motors (GM)'s decision to discontinue the support of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for vehicles on its Ultium EV platform led to the emergence of aftermarket solutions, notably from a company named White Automotive. This company offered a retrofit option for several GM vehicles, including the Chevrolet Blazer EV, Equinox EV, Silverado EV, the GMC Sierra EV, and the Cadillac Lyriq. GM has intervened to prohibit the installation of these aftermarket kits.
