Introducing cut-resistant charging cables and ChargePoint Protect alarm system to enhance security and reliability of EV charging stations

ChargePoint, a prominent provider of networked charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs) based in Campbell, California, has introduced two new measures aimed at curbing the issue of charger vandalism, which encompasses the launch of a cut-resistant charging cable and an alarm system named ChargePoint® Protect. The company, with its extensive experience of over fifteen years in product innovation within the charger design domain, developed the industry's first cut-resistant charging cable to mitigate the rising problem of charging cable theft and vandalism. This innovative cable incorporates specially designed cut-resistant materials to deter theft while maintaining flexibility for user comfort. ChargePoint plans to make these cables available for all its commercial and fleet charging stations and intends to selectively license the design to other manufacturers to bolster industry-wide resistance against tampering.
