EV maker Tesla’s proposal for lower import duty in India finds support

Tesla has already registered an entity in India as part of its future plans to foray in the subcontinent

U.S.-based electric car maker Tesla’s proposal for a reduction in import duty to enter the Indian market has found support by several government agencies, including the road transport ministry, department for promotion of industry and internal trade and think tank NITI Aayog, according to a news report filed by the Times of India on 30 August.
