The company has developed a new recycling process that integrates production of soluble slag that enables lithium recovery
Japan's Sumitomo Metal Mining Co Ltd (SMM) has verified that nickel and cobalt from secondary batteries such as the used lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries can be reused as a raw material for cathode material of these batteries through recovery and purification process, the company said in a press release on 16 August.
