UK think tank says legislation key for access to vehicle repair information

The industry could face a shortfall of over 25,000 technicians to service and repair EVs by 2030

A new report from the UK-based think tank Social Market Foundation (SMF) into upskilling UK technicians to service and repair electric vehicles has highlighted the importance of effective legislation to ensure the aftermarket has sufficient access to parts, information and connectivity under Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (MVBER), according to a press release dated 6 January by Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF).
