Tesla's introduction of stalkless vehicles, beginning with the new Model S and Model X, and followed by the refreshed Model 3, has paved the way for the emergence of aftermarket drive stalks designed to attach to the steering wheel. This move by Tesla, which left the Model Y as the exception although it is anticipated to also adopt this change, replaces traditional steering wheel stalks with force touch buttons for turn signals and drive gear controls on the center screen.
